DDB Worldwide asked Mode Project to create an integrated collateral campaign including a short film that would illustrate the concept of connectivity throughout Obama campaign. A culmination of over 400 hours of campaign footage, Processing, and After Effects.

On June 25th, David Plouffe, the campaign manager behind Barack Obama’s historic presidential election, joined the advertising industry at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Presented by DDB Worldwide, David Plouffe explained how to harness the power of social networking to connect groups of dispersed people and motivate them toward a common goal.

In early 2007, few people thought Senator Barack Obama had a chance of being elected President. But Obama’s leadership team, with David Plouffe at the helm, developed an extraordinary strategy to develop a world-class online community. They not only proved the nay-sayers wrong, but also blew by previous fundraising records – $580 million in two years, with 91 percent coming from individual donors. The campaign generated brand loyalty with unprecedented success.

This is a short 3d animation piece I did for a friend over a couple days. He created a concept for a new bike that utilizes mag-lev non-friction technology. Pretty intense stuff. To go with it, he needed an intense 30 second spot to showcase the features.

Longs Horseradish

This spot for Longs Horseradish is an entry I’ve made for the one show competition. My idea takes the company’s traditional small town look in an entirely new direction. The goal was to completely overhaul and rebrand a small horseradish company while targeting the young male demographic. Also a mention that quality has its price.

Flight Of Freedom

This project was based around the idea that all things can be animated. I thought it would be funny to glorify the climatic few seconds that a standard construction nail endures as it is fired into a material, or its final resting place. I also exaggerated a bit.

This short was produced to coincide with a sculpture project, and serve as the light source. For the installation, the film was projected onto the piano remains which resulted in a beautiful play of light across its surface. The short also serves as a document of the demise of the piano.
